House Hunting

I never realized how much work it would be to get our house ready to put on the market. Now I have the anticipation of whenever we get a call to say someone will be at our house in an hour that I have to get Isaac and Jessie out the door and the house picked up! Let's just all pray that it sells quickly! As excited as I am about finding a house with more space and a house that we will probably live in until we are old and gray it is also pretty sad. We bought our current house while Stephen and I were engaged. He lived here for a couple months until we were married and then I moved in. We spent our first night as a married couple here, this is the house we lived in when we got Jessie and the house where we brought Isaac home from the hospital. There have been a lot of firsts in this house and it will be sad to see our little home go. I just hope Isaac holds off on his first steps until our move so he can do that in our new home. Does that make me a dork?! If you know anyone looking for a three bedroom house that has and really great layout and a huge laundry room please direct them this way.

I had my rescheduled Tastefully Simple Party yesterday! I think everyone had a lot of fun trying the yummy food and just relaxing and hanging out. I really love to entertain people at our house. Stephen was playing drums at a church in Winston Salem yesterday so he didn't get home until the end of the party yesterday. Thankfully my mom came early before the party and kept Isaac entertained while I fininished getting everything ready with Candice's help.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Hopefully next update will say that our house is on the market. Stephen's sister, Katie, is a relator so she said we could have it on the market by the end of the week. Exciting. Now we just have to find a house we like. ha.

Isaac's Doctors appointment and new beginnings

A lot has happened since I last updated. It seems that Isaac's growth is slowing down now. He weighs 19 lbs and 15 1/4 oz. and is 27 3/4 inches long, so he's below average now. He can also start eating some regular food like yogurt, macaroni and cheese, pancakes and other such foods. It's pretty exciting to be able to feed him more things that we eat! I love that little boy so much more everyday! He is really showing his little character more and more everyday! I can tell he's going to be such a little ham and I love that he loves to still cuddle on his mommy! God has truly blessed us!

Stephen and I have started to feel so cramped in our tiny little house! So we have begun the process of possibly moving. We'll have to see how things go and we may end up just staying in our house for now, but we'll see. Exciting idea to think about though!

My friend Candice was in a car accident on Wednesday she's ok but man one more thing to add to her plate. Robby is still in GA doing training so she hasn't been able to see him since the accident. Hopefully she'll have some good news soon!

I'll keep you all up to date on our house news or lack there of.

Nothing new...

Not much happening around here and I'm having a hard time being motivated to get on here and update. But I thought I'd take a moment and just say that nothing new is happening. Isaac is crawling everywhere now and really wearing me out! He's trying to pull up but when he pulls up he forgets to hold on and falls over and then gets mad. He's a mess! He's start to make all new sounds which is so fun, his little voice is so cute! We have his 9 month check-up on Monday and I'm excited to see how big he's gotten. We've already moved him up to a big car seat because his infant one only went up to 22 lbs. and we're pretty sure he's at that or passed it. He's in 9 month clothes now and is getting so tall. We see the 9 month sleepers at the store andhow big they look and now that they actually fit him, we're shocked! He's getting big too fast. He's started "walking", now when we hold his hands and stand behind him he'll walk with us. Before when we tried he wouldn't move his feet but now he is, which is crazy! In no time at all he will be 1 and walking! My baby is already becoming a little boy and it's so exciting but my heart can't help but feel a little sad!

Sad News

I feel like I'm posting a lot of bad news lately and it's really bringing me down so after this post I promise to post something more upbeat! Stephen and I have some really great friends Candice and Robby. We actually just became really close in the past 6 months. Robby is in the Army and just returned from Iraq at the end of October. Which according to President Bush means that he should not have to return to combat for a year. WRONG! Robby switched units and now is with Special Forces. They had told him that even though his new unit was going to Afghanstain(sp?) that he would stay in the states. Robby was told this week that he will be going to Afghan. on May 19. This is very upsetting for Candice, obviously, I mean her husband just returned from 15 months in Iraq and is now leaving for 10 months. Isaac has really taken to Robby and I know this sounds so selfish but I hate that he's going to miss Isaac's first birthday. Candice and I were talking that we are going to get a picture of his Uncle Robby to put on our fridge so that Isaac remembers him when he comes home. Isaac will be almost 2 when he comes back. I know that God is in control but it's just so frustrating! I can only imagine how they are feeling! Please be praying for Robby that God will protect him, his body and his mind! Also pray for Candice, for peace of mind that Robby will be safe and that she can make it through another 10 months without her husband.

Thanks guys! Happier post next time I promise!

Sophia Hope

Because Cystic Fibrosis has been a large topic of conversation I thought I would introduce someone else to you! Her name is Sophia Hope, she is a little over 1 and one of the sweetest most beautiful little girls I have ever met, and the niece of one of my dear friends, Sarah. Sarah and I have been friends since high school and have experienced a lot in our friendship but God has totally brought us through it and we are still friends today!

When Sarah told me her sister Erica was pregnant I was so excited for her! She was going to be an aunt to a little girl and was so excited! I still remember getting her call telling me Erica had Sophie after a very hard labor and emergency C-section and she was beautiful! A short while later she called me crying, I was in Boone with Stephen visiting his parents, she said something was wrong and to be please be praying. I remember thinking please God let everything be OK and having faith that it was or at least that it would be. A few weeks later Erica and Josh would find out that Sophie had Cystic Fibrosis a fatal disease that is incurable at this time with a life expectancy of 37 years old. At this time there is also no government funding for finding a cure for this awful disease, so because of that regular people like you and me, must find a way to help fund finding a cure. I ran into Erica the other day at the bakery and she told me that the doctors tell her that the hope is that there will be a cure in Sophie's lifetime. Unfortunately that can't happen without people learning about this disease and making a commitment to help! I still remember that faith I felt that day getting the call from Sarah, I still have faith that everything will be ok and they will find a cure in Sophie's lifetime because people will learn more about Cystic Fibrosis and they will help in every way possible to find a cure!

There is a Great Strides walk occurring on May 3 in Cary, NC. I encourage you to make a donation in Sophie's name, http://www.cff.org/Great_Strides/dsp_DonationPage.cfm?walkid=5430&idUser=169961. Just click on the link and read the letter written by Sophie's mom and dad! I also encourage you to spread the word, make postings on your own blogs if you have them, tell people so that they can donate money in Sophie's name! We CAN make a difference and cure sweet Sophie. Every little bit helps so please consider making a donation for Sophie!

PRAY FOR TRICIA

As of right now Tricia is on her way to the operating room, they have lungs that are a match for her and it looks VERY promising. Check Nathan's blog http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/2008/04/its-go.html for any updates but please be in prayer for Tricia, the surgeons, all the doctors involved, the donor family and that she doesn't reject the new lungs! Today is her husband Nate's birthday so what an amazing gift!

Thank God today for all the healthy people in your family and for the gifts He gives!
