More about me and a blog referral

So for those of you out there that don't know, I LOVE photography. I truly fell in love with it in high school and I almost went to photography school, but money was an issue. Actually my good friend Sarah Seay graduated from there and is a great photographer, check out her blog in my links at the right. Anyways there is a contest at a blog I read. The prize has to do with photography. I normally don't do contests but this prize was too good to pass up! Her blog is called My Charming Kids and I've been reading/stalking her blog for months now. She is an amazing photographer from the midwest and I love the pictures she takes. Her story is amazing. To make a long story short, "her newborn son Stellan at just 20 weeks gestation was diagnosed with heart failure: premature atrial contractions; supraventricular tachycardia, hydrops, and intermittent advanced secondary heart block at 23 weeks; and enlargement of the heart at 32 weeks. At 24 weeks the doctors told them that their baby would surely die, they chose to give their son completely to God, for He alone knows best. They did not and have not stopped praising our Lord since then, because their baby was healed and was born a well and whole full-term baby!!" The Lord TRULY preformed a miracle on this baby boy who shows NO SIGNS of any health problems! Please go check out her blog, it is truly inspiring and just a really fun blog to read.

Thoughts on the election

This was written by Mary Beth Chapman(Steven Curtis Chapman's wife) and it is so true. I've been trying to figure out how I feel in my heart about this election and this really spoke to me, so I wanted to share it. I don't want to debate my decision for voting for John McCain. It's who I decided to vote for and I completly agree with Mary Beth's writting. I believe it is God's choice and that He is ALWAYS in control. It may not turn out how we want but He's in control, He's the same tomorrow that He is today!
"Some of our closest friends are Obama supporters! As a matter of fact.... We've been having a fun season of practical joking.... It started with the I voted early sticker that I sent them. That followed with them sending me a "REPUBLICAN'T" bumper sticker that they sent me! LOL! In Turn, I sent Caleb and Julia to hand deliver a couple McCain/Palin bumper stickers to their front porch...and yes...I must admit added a McCain/Palin campaign sign next to their Obama/Biden sign. Of course this was all done at night and in great fun, so that when they got home they could put their yard back to the way they needed it to be!!! Lots of laughs, lots of fun! It has caused us to have some Great discussions with them. A couple days later I received 2 books about Obama on my front porch...supposedly Fed Exed to me! Were they from my friends? YES! those silly people! (At least I think they were from them, as the books were signed......."Thanks for helping me carry the state of Tennessee....Senator Barack Obama!" Too funny! In turn....I sent them the kids book "My father, John McCain...and a sweet funny note back to them! I hope you all are tracking with me! It's been really good and really healthy! We have had some Fun with each other, we have respected each other, and we have discussed with each other! As a matter of fact, we were just texting each other this morning talking about how our votes today cancel each others out and thus we become UNITED! That is it! UNITED! No matter which man God (and I believe with all my heart this is God's choice) puts in the White house, we must as Christians become UNITED! Our friends are amazing Lovers of Christ who have walked closely with us, especially our son through this difficult season of life! We respect their choice, we honor their decision because they are people of Great Faith and they have their reasons why they believe Obama would be the best Choice. I totally respect them and they totally respect us. When this election is over, I am simply asking that we all do that....Respect the decision that is made and then become UNITED as CHRISTIANS, not as democrats or republicans. We need to help the world SEE us as Christians work together for the Change we need as followers of Christ, as it pertains to government issues! We can all make a difference together. For better thoughts on this, here is a great article to read written by John Piper.

I love you all..... Mary Beth (please go vote!)

P.S. My friends sent me this hat a day ago.....Will they get it back with an "N" painted in front of O in Obama making it "NOBAMA?" I think not. Today....God chooses the man (Romans 13:1) that needs to be leading the country for this next season of time, and you know what? I am not perfect, but I want to be UNITED!"

Fall 2008

*Please read the post before this, I've been trying to catch up*

So we've been to the State Fair, "drove" a tractor, took some pictures with pumpkins, dressed like a bear and even "helped" carve a pumpkin. Here's a picture post showing all the fun we've had recently!

Hair Cut

So because I haven't been updating my blog very well the past month or so I will be trying to post a lot this week. What better way to start then a mommy of the year post. Well Isaac needed a hair cut really bad so I decided for his first hair cut I wanted to do it. After all I'm his mommy and I could so do it, I mean how hard could it be. I hated the idea of cutting his hair, I knew it would make him look grown up, I wasn't sure I was ready for that and I wanted to be the one to do it. I told Stephen it was his job to hold Isaac still while I cut. ha! Fat chance! Stephen kept saying hurry just cut it, hurry it up! So I hurried and totally lopped off his and hair and left an AWFUL spot where his beautiful hair had been. I started crying and Stephen took the opportunity to take a picture! I know, he's so sweet! :) Stephen ended up finishing cutting his hair while I held him. I can laugh about it now but in the moment all I could think about was how I ruined Isaac's hair.
